Guess who is getting an iPod?

Stewie Griffin with his ipod

So I mentioned a while back that a student of mine up and gave me her iPod mini, right?

Well, I have enjoyed it immensely ever since I got it from her. I loaded a veritable crapload of music on it, and I have listened to it daily. My bride has enjoyed it as well. In fact, it has caused some frustrations. See, I like to listen to it on the way to work, before school, during my planning period, and then on the way home. I also like to have it here at home while she is at work so that I can listen to it then.

The problem is… she likes to have it during the day, on her way to work, at work, and on her way home. In other words, I want it all day, and so does she. Steve Jobs is a genius, and he has brilliant minds working for him, but he hasn’t figured out how to make an iPod be in two places at once… yet. That is what will be released next year, just in time to render all other iPods obsolete.

So the other night, I got online and did the research. My bride told me I could order a Nano. I wanted a video iPod, but she told me the Nano would be a good compromise. I am not sure how it is a compromise… I wouldn’t be getting what I wanted. When I showed her that the price difference between a 4GB nano and a 30GB video iPod was only $40, she gave me permission to go ahead and the get the 30GB one. I sure am glad because I was planning on it anyway. :) (Note to all teachers and students: be sure to buy your iPod online at the Apple Store. You get a discount!)

Black ipod So this is what mine will look like. It is being shipped here as we speak. In the meantime, I am trying to figure out what kind of case to get. Any suggestions? Also, I am doing research into how to rip DVDs into iPod video. I have some retail solutions, but I am always open to hearing about free ways. :)

We all got the iPod videos for Christmas. Santa also got our covers from Speck Products. They look really cool and come in different colors. The men got black but I got the white. They look indestructable.

there is a program called handbrake that rips and burns to ipod seocs but i think it is specifically for mac. the viewtime on the 30 gig is only 2 hours of video so you may not be watching too many movies. check on buying quicktime, i have the pro version and it has an auto setting to convert video source (mpg, etc.) directly to ipod res and settings.
and as for covers, the speckproducts are good

WOW! Mad love to your new layout…I thought I was on the wrong site for a sec…

But ok about this I-pod situation. We’re pretty good friends I’m thinking, and friends by freinds stuff so here’s my idea…You buy me an I-pod and I’ll buy you some batteries for yours!

Sounds like a hardcore idea to me!
