So, The Christmas Cards Are Arriving

Posted by on December 13, 2005

We sent out not only a Christmas card this year, but also a Christmas letter. Yes, we did it… we sent out the second-most hated thing associated with Christmas (fruitcake is #1). We figured some people might care, and the others would at least be polite enough not to tell us that they didn’t even read it.

So I suppose I should post something of more merit than a “How Jedi Are You” post just in case someone notices that DeeperWater.com was mentioned in the letter and decides to actually check this out. Hey, if two people who get the letters end up checking out DW, then my readership will have effectively doubled. (Okay, I am being facetious… but only slightly. :) )

But what to write? What to offer up to my sacred (no, I didn’t mean to write “scared”) readers. Something of some literary merit? Something with instrensic value? Something that stirs you deep within you heart of hearts and prompts you to call a long-lost friend?

Nah. Not gonna happen. I have been teaching Romeo and Juliet for weeks, and I am all tapped out when it comes to the sappy stuff.

Let’s just leave it with this: I am praying for the return of my muse. I am awaiting inspiration. And while I wait, I am going to go watch My Name is Earl.
