Okay, I have to admit that there are certain things that I just don’t understand. The mayor of New Orleans had ordered a mandatory evacuation of the city, and yet he knew that there were literally thousands of people who had no way out of the city. Perhaps he thought he had no way to transport them…. oh, wait… that’s right… they had school buses.
Okay, okay, so maybe they didn’t think about it. Well, one quick thinking 18-year-old apparently did. And they want to arrest him for it? While thugs in New Orleans are taking pot shots at policemen and helicopters attempting to evacuate the hospitals, this young man found a bus, filled it full of strangers in need, and drove it seven hours to Houston.
Forget the cuffs, I say give him a medal.
Big thanks to Scott Bridwell for noticing these things first and making me aware of them.
